LMC N44 region

Constellation: Dorado

The LMC-N44 is an emission nebula with superbubble structure located in the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) in the constellation of Dorado. It is located approx. 160’000 Ly from Earth. This region of the LMC also contains several open clusters and regions of nebulasity. Link to interactive sky chart.

This is derived from the outstanding data taken by Martin Pugh (Martin’s website: Remote Astrophotography with Martin Pugh (martinpughastrophotography.space).

The first image is in HOO and was taken during the month of November 2020.
The second image is in HSO and was taken during the month of February 2023.

His telescope is located in Chile (Observatory: El Sauce).
