IC 1311
Constellation: Cygnus
IC 1311 is an open cluster in the constellation of Cygnus. It is thought to be about 17’000 LY away. IC 1311 is located SE of the γ Cygni nebula and West of the small planetary nebula PN G077.6+04.3 (a.k.a. Patchick 6 and DSH J2009.6+4114) visible as a blue-green bubble. In HSO, this region shows a significant amount of [S II] and [O III] filaments, some of which overlap with the Hα filaments. Link to interactive sky chart.
