Lionel Murphy nebula
Constellation: Dorado
The Lionel Murphy nebula (LMC B0455-6843, LHA 120-N 86, SNR J045546-683848) is a supernova remnant in the Large Magellanic Cloud (constellation Dorado). The bright structure to the lower left is composed of the molecular cloud LMC N J0457-6844 and the association of star LHA 120-N 92. The bright nebulosity is likely a reflection nebula. The star cluster “above” the nebula is KMHK 280, while the one on the far right is NGC 1732 and the one on the lower right is NBG 1734. Link to interactive sky chart.
