Constellation: Canis Major
vdB 94 (a.k.a. LBN 1039) is a reflection nebula in the constellation of Canis Major illuminated by the star HD 53623. It is located about 4’000 Ly away. It is associated with the emission nebula Sh2-297 at the tip of the southern wing of the Seagull nebula. The dark nebule is part of LDN 1657A. Link to interactive sky chart.
