SNR G65.3+5.7

Constellation: Cygnus

The weak supernova remnant (SNR) G65.3+5.7 is located in the constellation Cygnus. Some parts of this SNR are catalogued as SH2-91, SH2-94 and SH2-96. It is estimated that this SNR is 20.000-25.000 years old and is at a distance of about 2’600 – 3’200 Ly from Earth. The shell has a diameter of roughly 230 lightyears. This SNR is a predominantly OIII shell with also some H-alpha signal. Link to interactive sky chart.
