Sandqvist 111 and 112
Constellation: Vela
Sandqvist 111 (most western) and 112 are dark nebulae in the constellation of Vela. Near/within Sandqvist 111 we see the Herbig-Haro objects 46 and 47 that are associated with newborn stars. The yellowish nebula (southeast of the image) is VDBH 16, a reflection nebula associated with a young star. Link to interactive sky chart.
The Herbig-Haro objects 46/47 have been imaged by the JWST in July 2023 (see also).
