NGC 7000, the NorthAmerica nebula

Constellations: Cygnus

NGC 7000 (Also known as the North America nebula) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus.  Next to it is IC 5070 (the Pelican nebula, also an emission nebula). They are located at 2590 Ly from Earth. Link to interactive sky chart.

Date:

This image was taken during several nights between April and May 2023. It was taken with dualband filters (Hydrogen-α – Oxygen-III and Sulfure-II – Hydrogen-β). The stars come from the OSC (no filter) data.

Takahashi FSQ-106ED on a 10micron GM1000HPS mount

Total integration time: 17h 33′

Using this combination of filters, and integrating the data as SHaOHB allows to bring out interesting features, such as the unnamed nebula in the imagge below.
