NGC 6823 and Sh2-86
Constellation: Valpecula
NGC 6823 is an open cluster in the constellation Valpecula, and is surrounded by the large faint emission nebula Sh 2-86. The star clusters is about 6’000 Ly away. To the southwest of the open cluster is the small reflection nebula NGC 6820. Sevreal Planetary Nebulae are visible in this field (see below). Link to interactive sky chart.
