Sh2-279, the Running Man nebula

The Running Man nebula (also known as Sh2-279) comprises NGC 1973, NGC 1975 and NGC 1977. They are divided by darker nebulous regions, the Running Man. See also the images under South of Orion’s Belt. Link to interactive sky chart.
