Markarian’s chain

Constellation: Virgo

This chain of galaxies is called Markarian’s chain. It is part of the Virgo Cluster and contains both Messier objects 84 and 86. Other members of the chain are NGC 4477, NGC 4473, NGC 4461, NGC 4458, NGC 4438 and NGC 4435.
