Henize 2-111
Constellation: Centaurus
Henize 2-111 (He 2-111, PN G315.0-00.3) is a planetary nebula in the constellation of Centaurus. Its estimated distance from Earth is 6’800 Ly. The size of the lobes is about 20 Ly and the long axis of the core of the nebula around 1 Ly. While the central stars have never been observed, its core reveals a complex structure, featuring a *toroid” of about 0.5-0.7 Ly (see image below). The brightest star in the filed is HD 127470.
