Barnard 207

Constellation: Taurus

Barnard 207 (LDN 1489, LBN 777), often refered to as the Vulture Head nebula, is a cometary (or Bok) globule (i.e. small dark nebula shaped like a comet) in the constellation Taurus, part of the Taurus-Auriga-Perseus molecular cloud region. Its distance from Earth is about 450 Ly. It contains a young stellar object, IRAS 04016+2610, which is in its early stage of formation. Link to interactive sky chart.
