NGC 6946, the Fireworks galaxy

NGC 6946, the Fireworks galaxy, is a face-on intermediate spiral galaxy with a small bright nucleus located in the boundary between the constellations Cepheus and Cygnus. Its distance from Earth is about 25.2 million Ly. It is located 2 degrees West of LDN 1082. It is at the western end of a region with many interesting objects in the south of Cepheus.
