Sh2-126

Constellations: Lacerta

Sh2-126 is a large faint emission nebula found in the constellation Lacerta. The most prominent molecular cloud is known as LBN 437.

This image was taken during several nights in July 2022. It consists of three panes, taken with a color camera.

Zoom in the molecular cloud, also called the Geko nebula. This image is derived from a subset of the same data: 649x120s or 21h 38′ of total integration time. The “head of the geko” contains several Herbig-Haro objects, the brightest of which is HH398.
